Hardware & Design Redesign

• The "World's Smallest Smart Ring": The headline feature is its size—the Oura Ring 5 is 40% smaller and lighter in volume than the Oura Ring 4. It has been narrowed down to a width of 6.09mm and a thickness of just 2.28mm, allowing it to feel much more like traditional, non-tech jewelry.

• Upgraded Sensing Architecture: Despite its smaller size, Oura re-engineered the internal sensors. It rotates and repositions the LEDs closer to the skin with a "flat-top" dome design. It features 12 optimized signal pathways paired with LEDs that are four times more powerful, delivering cleaner, more accurate readings across various finger sizes and skin tones (including a 24% improvement in signal quality for workout heart rates).

• Enhanced Scratch Resistance: Built with a high-grade titanium frame, it features an upgraded physical vapor deposition (PVD) coating process that drastically improves everyday scratch resistance. It is also waterproof up to 100 meters (328 feet).

• Extended Battery Life & Portable Charging Case: It achieves 6 to 9 days of battery life on a single charge. Alongside the standard desktop charger, Oura introduced a separate aluminum portable charging case ($99) that holds up to a month’s worth of battery life (4 full recharges) and includes a "Locate" tracking feature for misplaced devices.

• Finishes & Sizing: It comes in sizes 6 through 13. Finishes include standard Silver and Black ($399), alongside premium finishes ($499) like Stealth, Brushed Silver, a redesigned and more natural Gold, and a brand-new Deep Rose (a rich copper-rose).

Advanced Health & Software Enhancements

• Health Radar (Proactive Monitoring): Building on the previous "Symptom Radar," this feature uses background monitoring to track long-term cardiovascular and metabolic shifts while you sleep. It includes Blood Pressure Signals (to track cardiovascular strain overnight without needing a blood pressure cuff calibration) and Nighttime Breathing Analysis (offering a rolling 30-day view of respiratory disturbances).

• Live Activity Tracking: For the first time, users can start a workout in the Oura app and view real-time metrics like heart rate, pace, and distance on their phone’s screen or lock screen widgets (utilizing the phone's GPS). Automatic activity tracking has also been fine-tuned to catch low-motion workouts like Pilates.

• Women's Health Expansions: The Ring 5 introduces a Hormonal Birth Control feature that adjusts cycle insights for those using pills, IUDs, or implants to see how contraception alters bodily baselines. It also introduces Menopause Insights, featuring a research-driven clinical questionnaire to monitor how symptoms impact sleep, mood, and daily biometrics.

• Connected Care & Counsel Health Partnership: Oura integrated an online medical service directly into the app. Through a partnership with Counsel Health, users can get AI-enabled medical advice or seamlessly jump into a live chat with a licensed, real-world physician (available in 43 US states for an additional fee).

• Lab Uploads & Oura Health Records: Users can now import external blood work biomarkers, lab results, and diagnosed clinical histories directly into the app, placing traditional medical records alongside daily wearable metrics for a holistic health view.

• GLP-1 Medication Insights: For users taking GLP-1 weight-loss medications, the app now provides a longitudinal tracking view to log dosages, manage side effects, and map how the medication influences sleep and overall readiness.
